Welcome, December! We’ve got three full and festive week of classes until winter break. Our last day of classes before winter break is Saturday, December 20. (Please note that the open classes will run as a combined class from 10:00-11:15 a.m. that day.) Classes will resume Monday, January 5. Until then, there’s lot of fun to be had in the studio!
We are excited to announce two “pop-up” (meaning, we just planned them and they are happening soon!) workshops: Caroline will be teaching her choreography class as a one-night workshop on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. for all dancers currently enrolled in ballet and/or contemporary (IF/Intermediate and up). This is a great opportunity to learn from such a talented artist! Stephanie will be teaching a beginner-friendly Nutcracker-themed ballet class for adults on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. Expect elegant, simple sequences in a traditional class format. Bring a friend or two and enjoy a moment of movement during this busy season.
For our “regularly-scheduled” workshops on December 13, there are just three spots remaining in our Nutcracker Ballet Camp for children 3-6. Registration is also open for our Nutcracker Night In. Scroll down for links to register!
We’re also excited to announce that registration is now open for Winter Tiny Toes, starting January 6! This could be the perfect gift for a toddler or caregiver on your Christmas list. Read more about classes for our youngest dancers here, and scroll for the link to register.
Many of our dancers will be on stage at The Fox this coming weekend with State Street Ballet’s The Nutcracker. Spokane has a wonderful community of studios who come together for events like The Nutcracker, and this January, Gonzaga Dance will premier its new story ballet, Thumbelina. This performance is based on the Hans Christian Anderson classic and is produced by all-Spokane talent — they want to involve local young dancers are inviting all children between 6-10 who are are under 4’6” (costume limitations) to auditions on Sunday, December 14. Scroll down for the link to the audition interest form.
Speaking of costumes, many of our classes have received their costumes. Please let us know ASAP if you need to exchange sizes. Once you’ve tried them on, please put them somewhere safe until picture day in March (date TBD). After the recital on May 18—but not before!—they can go in a dress-up bin.
Two final reminders: Our second trimester began Monday, November 24. Tuition is due by your student’s first class; please help us close up our 2025 books by paying before the end of the month. If you need us to re-send your invoice, please reply to this email. Exam registrations are due mid-month. If you haven’t yet confirmed your participation by submitting the online form, please scroll to the bottom of the email.
