It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of our first trimester of dance classes! That is certainly something we are grateful for during this season of thanksgiving. We know you will enjoy seeing the progress your dancer has made when you observe class during watch week, November 17-22. Scroll down for some helpful hints if this is your first one.
Winter weather is upon us, so please note the following guidelines for closures:
Regarding upcoming holidays, remember: There are no classes on Tuesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. There are no classes Wednesday, November 28-Saturday, November 29 for Thanksgiving break.
November 23 is the final Sunday Sound Bath at 4:00. Give yourself the gift of a relaxing afternoon of yoga and healing sounds before holiday busy-ness piles on. Starting Tuesday, November 25, Miss Caroline is teaching a 3-week series focusing on contemporary choreography, open to students in 8th grade and up.
While there are no dance classes during Thanksgiving break, Stephanie is leading a free Thanksgiving barre class at 9:30. Bring two or more cans of food, which will be donated to a local food pantry. Link to register below!
In our second trimester, we shift the focus from connection and technique to self-discipline and sequencing. Learning how to put discrete steps into a sequence requires a lot of mental and physical effort. Executing full sequences — with excellent technique! — will help your dancer prepare for our May 18 recital, “A Retrospective: Classics and Favorites.” An additional opportunity to perform in the spring is the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations, open to ballet students in Grade 1 and up. Please contact Miss Ann if you have any further questions about exams, as we submit our registrations next month.
Looking ahead to December, we have some holiday fun in store at the studio with a daytime Nutcracker Ballet Camp and an evening Nutcracker Night In. Registration for both events is now open!
Finally, as a reminder, 2nd trimester tuition is due on Monday, November 24. Invoices will be sent later this month. You can pay online by clicking the links on the invoice, or you can drop a check or cash payment into the box at the bottom of the stairs. |
